ADELEKE CONSIDERS DECLARING PENTECOST DAY WORK-FREE DAY
An appeal has been made to the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to declare the annual Christian Pentecost Day a work-free day in the state as obtainable in many nations of the world.
This appeal was made by the President of Victory Life Ministries International, Bishop Mike Bamidele, during a courtesy call on Governor Adeleke at the government house Osogbo.
Bishop Bamidele, who pioneered the Pentecost Day celebration in Osun state ten years ago, told the Governor that declaring Pentecost Day a work-free day will not only call special attention to the unique day but also enable Christians to fully celebrate the day.
Bishop Bamidele also emphasized that in the spirit of fairness and equity, Christians deserve another work-free day as recently granted other religious sects by former Osun state Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.
Responding, Governor Adeleke appreciated Bishop Bamidele for his avowed commitment to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ in the state and beyond, as well as his humanitarian gesture.
The Governor promised to positively consider the request to declare Pentecost Day a work-free day in Osun.
